Deadly Shore Audible Audiobook – Unabridged
It's July 5th, and the Cape Cod roadways are clogged with tourists heading home from the holiday weekend and trying to outrun an approaching potentially catastrophic hurricane. But in the blink of an eye, their lives are thrown into chaos when terrorists bring down the bridges to the Cape. Instantly, a half million terrified people have no way to escape. And when the terrorists threaten to release anthrax on the captive population if their demands aren't met, fear turns to all-out panic.
With time running out, Marcus Baldwin, a private investigator and former CIA operative, and Sara Cross, a disgraced ex-homicide detective, are brought together by a sole clue to the identity of the terrorists. They quickly realize that they may be the only ones with even a chance at stopping the plot before it's too late.
With Hurricane Chad barreling up the coast on a path for a direct hit on Cape Cod, it becomes frighteningly clear to everyone trapped on what has now become an island - one way or another they are probably all going to die.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 15, 2023I read 2-4 novels per week and found this one to be a solid suspense that kept my attention. A plus was very few editing errors, something not always found in a Kindle read. I enjoyed the double threat of a natural disaster and terrorist plot. Characterization is well handled for needed plot development with the main characters and subplots; however, I found the creation of so many other characters a bit aggravating to muddle through at times. I believe author Cunningham needed some of these to show the fear and humanity of the threatening situations, but some could be left out or at a minimum, mentioned and not repeatedly inserted. One example for me was the book club group - a group that was quite unlikable. Had they been connected to one of the main characters in some way, to one of the police officers or crooks, or to one of those stuck on the ferry, perhaps I would have cared about their fate. Not so much. Reading about them just became tedious. In contrast, reading about Ann’s thread with Joe was a delightful evolution into human nature, as was the glimpse of conflicted humanity between Richard and the bruiser on the ferry. I hope the author continues the story of Marcus and Sara in another adventure (perhaps away from Cape Cod) to allow them a bit more development as individual characters and as a couple. I am not fond of profanity in books; there was some sprinkled throughout with the bad guys, but it was not overwhelming and did not distract from the storyline. This was my first Andrew Cunningham read, and I plan to read more.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 6, 2024I expected this to be about how a few people lived through the disaster. I was disappointed there were so many little groups instead of the focus being on one main set of characters.
It wasn't bad, but too scattered for me to care about anybody but Ann and Joe.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 7, 2024Cape Cod what a lovely place to live and vacation. That is before the hurricane warning with everyone in line at the bridge and ferry. Then danger hits and there is no way to go home. Could it get any worse? Why is this happening? Suspense is upon us, will we survive?
- Reviewed in the United States on February 26, 2024Terrorists, a hurricane and a half million people stranded on Cape Cod. What else can you ask for? This book gripped from the beginning and finished with an exciting, nail biting conclusion.
Great characters and storm description to boot!

5.0 out of 5 stars Surprising
First time reading a book by this author & this sort of story. Though lately I'm getting into them.
I enjoyed the story line & characters.
It's got plots & conspiracies.
If that's your thing, give it a go.

3.0 out of 5 stars Deadly Combination of Terrorism & Hurricane!
Cape Cod is threatened by the worst Hurricane Chad. While tourists & residents are going bersek in securing their supplies, suddenly bridges, docks & airport is hit by bombings. All hell breaks loose at Cape Cod. Ex-CIA Marcus & Ex-Cop Sara meet accidentally and take it upon them to stop the terrorists act.
Will they succeed? How bad Will Hurricane Chad be?
Read the novel to know the answers.

5.0 out of 5 stars An interesting read
I liked the storyline of this book a lot of action but a bit slow in parts. Very interesting characters and a hurricane just to give you even more to keep the pages turning.

4.0 out of 5 stars Like a disaster movie
I am so glad I continued with the first book in the series, now I am listening to the other books in the series. Yes the narration takes a while to get into but it does suit the story so once I am in, I am in. This was a very complicated story and I did have to write down the characters to make sure that I understand who was who and how they fit in.
Thoroughly enjoyed it and then off to the next one.
