Ruins of the Prime Ones: Sentinels, Book 1 Audible Audiobook – Unabridged
Captain Melias Volery is a Sentinel, a warrior who travels the galaxy protecting those that can’t protect themselves—if they can afford to pay for his services. Whether you call them mercenaries or heroes, there’s no denying their effectiveness, but even these experienced warriors may be in over their head in the ruins of the Prime Ones. Can Melias and his crew unravel the secrets of this long lost race and save the galaxy from an ancient alien power trying to destroy the galaxy?
Ruins of the Prime Ones is the first book in the Sentinels series. If you like sci-fi adventures, space battles with complex alien invaders, and unexpected twists in humanity's exploration of the stars, this could be your new favorite series.

- Reviewed in the United States on June 30, 2023Parts of this story seem familiar and then other parts are completely unexpected. There is no resolution at the end of the book. Instead, we have the opening of a deeper mystery than the threads found earlier in this book. At question is whether the next installment will provide any answers, or only more questions. The character development is good even with the very diverse cast of players so I expect I will continue for at least one more installment.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 24, 2023Congratulations to the team of James David Victor for this amazing series. It’s extremely nice to find such interesting and exciting authors who not only write intelligently but also provide top rated plots, characters and excitement in the stories. I’m really looking forward to the next book in this series.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 11, 2023Good start. Now we need to see where this is going. The plot is a little different from other books of this type. The characters are a bunch of misfits from different parts of galaxy. They seem to make a good team. I'm ready for part2.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 4, 2024This seems to be the beginning of a good story.
The only problem I had was with some of the science in this science fiction. Radio waves travel at max at the speed of light. So don’t know how radio frequencies can reach across the stars so fast.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 1, 2023Unfortunately zombie or other types of uglies are just not my style... Even though I respect this author for the effort he must put in to keep the "conversations" going... I can't continue. I read the 9 book series that led up to this, it was great, but I guess it was too good to be true that he'd just keep it going... so I'll be going, going, gone... :-)
- Reviewed in the United States on January 31, 2024The crew is family. It makes the difference. They made a mistake sending Saph off with Thandriel and that has to be corrected.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 20, 2023Interesting premise. Can we, or will we get to the meat of it soon? Old ruins have bugged all cultures since time imemmorial.

This first book in the series delivers from start to finish and leaves you eager to read the next book in the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Justice for Hire
well this is a strange one but I started to get I to it by the end so I will reserve judgement for the time being and see what the next book is like.

4.0 out of 5 stars Potentially wonderful space opera and galactic mystery
I most enjoy books that have the search for ancient races at their core. Whilst this book, the first in series, leads on to such a search my initial enjoyment was muted. Yet another We Will Cleanse The Unpure Novel I find dissatisfying. Hopefully the wonderfully rendered crew of The Goose will, in the Search sequel, take me and other readers on an intriguing adventure rather than just, Gotta Purify Everybody bandwagon. Well written, great potential but hopefully not the overworn plot of Purification at the loss of Adventure. Next book please ....

4.0 out of 5 stars interesting
First book in this series interesting to keep me to read book 2 , haven’t read anything by this author, so far good .

4.0 out of 5 stars fast paced and (thankfully) mostly in order.
Some parts recognisable from elsewhere, but they do say that there is nothing new, just new arrangements. Nice easy read and flows well. Stretches the tech in places but that's what we all love
